Private Van Transfer

This is the easiest and fastest option.

  • Once you are in Quepos, you have to take another bus from Quepos to Manuel Antonio ($1) or a taxi up the mountain ($8).

For more INFO and LOGISTICS about this, check or contact the bus company: Tracopa

Rental Car

Cost: $60 to $120 per day depending on the type of car and the season.

Things to know about renting a car:

  • Prices advertised on any rental car website normally do not include mandatory insurance, so always be sure to ask them what your TOTAL will be after the insurance is included. Also, keep in mind renting a car requires a deposit / hold of $500/$1000 on your credit card.
  • Renting a 4×4 is recommended in Costa Rica, you never know where your adventures will take you and a good majority of the roads require 4×4.
  • Make sure you rent a car with from an agency who has offices along the country. The reason for this is, when you have any bad luck with the rental car there is always an office close by and you do not need to wait for many hours to receive help.
  • Safety- always park your rental car in a paid parking lot when possible. Do not leave any valuables in your car…Costa Rica is a beautiful country, however petty theft is our number one crime.

*We recommend Alamo, but there are a lot of different rental car companies, inform yourself and pick a car you like. Make sure to check if they have multiple offices along the country!

Getting Around Manuel Antonio

Our vacation rentals are located in the heart of the jungle in Manuel Antonio where you can see monkeys, sloths, toucans and many other wildlife in your own backyard. The vacation rentals are located in a safe gated community. This prime location is within walking distance of supermarkets, restaurants, shops, bus stop, spa & yoga studio and a 5-minute drive to the National park and many other beautiful local beaches!

The bus stop is just 200 meters away, about a 2-minute walk, and goes back and forth between Manuel Antonio and Quepos every 20 minutes. The costs for this bus ride are about 50 cents to 1 dollar. There are also taxis available going back and forth to Quepos, these will cost around 8 dollar. The national park and a couple different beaches are less than a 5-minute bus ride or drive!

If you are planning to stay within Manuel Antonio you don’t need to have a rental car, if you are planning to travel around in Costa Rica we do recommend to rent a car. Depending on your time schedule, it is also possible to travel around by public bus.
